CLICKER HOUNDS

Owner and trainer of ClickerHounds, Amber Overwater is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed through the Certification Counsel of Professional Dog Trainers and alumni of Karen Pryor Academy's Professional Dog

Trainer program. Following force-free techniques, she will guide you

on your journey of a stronger communication and bond with your

canine. With special interests in the first 12 weeks of puppyhood,

temperaments and how they effect our training, and behavioural

cases. In her free time, as most trainers, Amber spends time with her

canine crew of three. She has experience with a variety of dog sports

such as Lure Coursing, Barn Hunt, Trick Dog, and Rally Obedience.

With her dogs she has titled in Trick Dog Championship, Urban

Locating 1, Canine Good Neighbour, Advanced Sprinters, and earned

2020 and 2021 Best of Breed in Urban Locating II.

Pandemic Puppy Preschool

Fee $140+GST

Recommended for puppies under 8 months

In this class we focus on positive reinforcement & force-free techniques to help shape and guide puppies to their potential. Catch up your puppy's basic skills of sits and downs, stays, automatic attention, handling for grooming and vet visits, zen work, and puppy recall.

We will also discuss techniques to help with potential challenges the pandemic puppy may face.

Elementary Life Skills

Recommended for puppies/dogs over the age of 8 months, or have completed a set of puppy classes prior 

A mat (Bath mat, small blanket, something comfy and easy to carry) will be needed for class

For the park, cafe, and beyond! In this class you will learn the skills for raising a well-mannered companion. Advanced recall and loose leash skills, mat work, and mastering the art of delayed reinforcement are a few skills covered in class.

Please contact Bark Lodge to sign up for upcoming sessions through phone, email or in store. All class sizes will be between 6-7 dogs, owner's will be responsible for bringing treats for a reward and a leash. 

Each dog will receive individual time with the trainer every class.

 

Please arrive a few minutes early to allow your dog to become familiar with the area so they are focused and ready once the class begins.

 

We require Parvo, Distemper & Rabies vaccines for all dogs over 24 weeks old. Bordatella (kennel cough) is not mandatory but recommended.
Dogs between 12 - 24 weeks must have a minimum of two sets of vaccines. Please email records prior to your visit or bring in a printed certificate from your veterinarian.
